Single player disappointment

I was so excited about this game based on my civilization and colonization experience. But it doesnt allow any form of single player - I didnt want to attack to make money. I just wanted to explore and build my world. That wasnt an option because every time I would earn money I would lose it when I was attacked. If I tried to put up defenses, I may "beat" my attacker, but Id still lose 1/3rd (it seemed) with no ensuing treaty. So in an hour, I could be attacked 3 times for a loss of (at least) half my money. Which means I couldnt explore anything.

So. I love the visual of this game, the feel of this game, the history of this game ...if they would allow me to play as a single player, I would keep playing. But it doesnt work that way so I have given up.

If youre looking for multi player attack games, it may be great. I dont know because thats not my interest. If youre just looking for fun single player games, itll be fun for about 2 months before its impossible to continue.
